The Color Harmonies page shows how a given color is related to others that match a filter criteria. When launched using the QC button of the Chooser tab, the colors compared are limited to those selected in the QC operation. When launched from the Compare button of the Color Detail page, the colors compared are limited to those that share a tag.
The rules for color harmony are somewhat subjective, but HueVue uses a set of rules that are based on guidance generally taught to artists and graphic designers to determine which colors can be matched harmoniously. The Color Harmonies page groups colors by the type of harmony that they fall into.
Two-color harmonies are classified based on the colors' relationship the color wheel, is divided into ten parts. Presently HueVue only determines two color Harmonies. The types of two color harmony recognized by HueVue are:
The two colors are in the same segment of the color wheel.
The two colors are one step away from each other on the color wheel.
The two colors are four steps away from each other on the color wheel.
The two colors are opposite each other on the color wheel.
The one of the two colors white, black or a shade of gray.
